SEAFORD CHRISTMAS MAGIC

December 2nd, 2019.

It's back! This year’s Seaford Christmas Magic is this Saturday, the 7th of December from 10.00am through to 6.00pm in Seaford town centre. It will combine the sounds and smells of Christmas, with entertainment and attractions for all residents of Seaford and beyond to enjoy.

Live music will be ringing out from the main stage at the top of Broad Street throughout the day. Entertainers such as Seaford Community Drum Circle, Rebecca Clay with Colin Hughes, Seaford Choral Society, Pop Up Singers, Megan Rose Mulpeter, Jamie Morgan with Virginia Thorn Music, SPRuNG, Consensus Chorale, Up The Tempo Dance School, Vocal Repertoire, Mike Lynch, Julie Terry with Boogie Sound Machine, Archway Choirs and more, keeping the joyful Christmas spirit upbeat with a whole range of singing styles. Shannon Smith will host the exciting and eclectic mix of vocalists, musicians and other contemporary acts on the performance stage, just off Broad Street. Christmas Magic unplugged is being hosted within St Leonard's Church, with an assortment of seasonal readings every hour combined with acoustic music and song. The dramatic Stix Drummers will be very hard to miss as they perform around the town centre.

Enjoy some street food and mulled wine from stalls and business premises alike, to warm you up while enjoying the live entertainment. And don’t miss the opportunity to grab some Christmas presents from the market stalls with festive goodies. Support your local community and peruse the goods in the local shops too.

For families with young children, Santa’s Grotto will be at Seaford Barn Theatre. Follow the trail through the craft market stalls as the helpful elves from Seaford Youth Forum direct visitors to a magical Christmas grotto experience. Visiting the ‘Elf on the Shelf’ in his Christmas snow globe on your way, climb into his snowy Christmas globe scene and have your photo taken with him, at the bottom of Broad Street/High Street.

On the day, Seahaven FM will be open to all to pop along and find out more about your local radio station or try your hand at being a radio presenter.

Colour your Christmas with lantern-making workshops at St Leonard Church Hall, with SCIP (Seaford Contemporary, Illustrators & Printers). Coloured tissue papers, custom designed and cut stamps will be available in abundant supply, from 10.00am through to 3.30pm. Even if it is not possible to join the lantern parade at the end of the day, do pop along and make a lantern for free. The Lantern Parade is a highlight of the day, for both the children taking part and the onlookers. It begins the build-up to the switching on of Seaford’s Christmas lights by Father Christmas at 5.10pm.

To top off an exciting day, sit back and relax at the Barn Theatre, where Seaford Community Cinema will be showing Mary Poppins Returns, a U-rated film for all the family to enjoy. Booking advised. Tickets available on-line at www.seafordcinema.org and in the Tourist Information Centre at 37 Church Street.
