Seaford Town Council is to introduce a one-year trial of a paid parking system at the South Hill Barn car park, scheduled to begin in late April 2026. The initiative is designed to improve parking management in anticipation of the busy summer season.
All residents living within the BN25 postcode area will be eligible for a free parking permit, enabling them to park at South Hill Barn at no cost throughout the duration of the trial.
Permits are now available, and residents can obtain theirs by visiting the Seaford Tourist Information Centre, located at 37 Church Street, Seaford. The centre is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 4.00pm. To collect a permit, residents will need to provide proof of address; Either: a valid driving licence, or a utility bill (e.g. electricity bill or council tax bill) alongside a passport or bus
pass. Permits will be registered to a specific car. There is a maximum of three permits available per household. Permits will be issued immediately and can be displayed in the vehicle windscreen.
The parking trial is planned to run for the full financial year, from late April 2026 to March 2027. Towards the end of this period, the Town Council will carry out a full review to assess the effectiveness of the scheme. Findings will then be reported to
Full Council to inform a decision on future arrangements.
