POLICE APPEAL FOR ACCIDENT INFORMATION

February 4th, 2023.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a serious collision on the A259 between Exceat and Friston on the 30th of January.

The collision between a van and motorcycle happened around 4.30pm which resulted in the road being closed for several hours.

Following the collision the rider of the motorcycle, a 73-year-old man, was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital by air ambulance with serious, potentially life threatening or life changing injuries.

Investigating officers are particularly keen to speak with the rider of a moped with learner plates who was ahead of the collision and may have information which could assist their enquiries.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released on bail until April the 30th while enquiries continue.

Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to report it to police by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Pence.
