NEWHAVEN HEALTH HUB UPDATE

March 16th, 2026.

Key partners visited the landmark Newhaven Health Hub this week to see first-hand the progress being made on the project, which is designed to bring modern, integrated health and wellbeing facilities to the heart of the town.

Once complete, the development aims to provide two state-of-the-art GP practices, Quayside Medical Practice and Chapel Street Surgery, alongside health and wellbeing facilities, a new pharmacy and a dedicated creative hub.

The scheme forms a central part of the council’s wider regeneration of Newhaven.

Zoe Nicholson, Leader of Lewes District Council, said: “It was fantastic to see such strong progress on the Newhaven Health Hub.

“This project is a major investment in the wellbeing of local residents, and it’s exciting to watch these modern, purpose-built facilities take shape.

“Once complete, the hub will transform access to healthcare and community services in Newhaven, and today’s visit shows just how close we are to delivering that vision.”

The new link bridge connecting the Wave Active extension to the existing Seahaven building has now been installed, plus, the full internal fit-out of the new Chapel Street Surgery has been completed, with work now advancing inside Quayside Surgery.

Chapel Street Surgery remains on track for completion in May 2026, with the remainder of the site expected to be finished by August 2026.
