Newhaven Town Council has announced that Meeching Hall has been offered for sale in partnership with commercial agents Lawsons Commercial.

As a designated Community Value Asset, the property holds a unique position at the heart of the town and offers a range of possibilities for future use and development.

In line with Community Value Asset regulations, a six-month moratorium period will be observed before any sale is finalised, to provide a window for community groups to prepare and submit their own proposals.

The Council invites offers in excess of £200,000.

Mayor of Newhaven, Councillor Kim Bishop, commented: “After careful consideration of the Council’s wider property portfolio, the decision to bring Meeching Hall to  market presents a positive step forward, with the sale expected to unlock vital investment, that will help us enhance and sustain our remaining community buildings for years to come, whilst also creating new 
opportunities for Meeching Hall.”
