National Highways reports:

The A26 in East Sussex remains closed in both directions between the A259 at Newhaven and the A27 at Beddingham.

This was a planned overnight closure for resurfacing works, scheduled to finish by 06:00 this morning. However, contractors have advised that due to broken down plant equipment, the works have been delayed and the closure will now overrun its scheduled end time.

Local diversions remain in place. Please allow extra time for your journey, follow diversion signs, and consider alternative routes where possible.
