SEAFORD MAYOR'S SUMMER RECEPTION

Newly elected Seaford Mayor, Councillor Nazish Adil, hosted her Summer Civic Reception to help promote her charitable causes whilst in her term in office on Wednesday the 17th of July. The chosen charities are ‘The Youth Counselling Project’ and the Down Syndrome Development Trust, both based in Seaford.


The event was held at The View and was attended by various dignitaries, including the High Sheriff of Sussex, Violet Hancock and her husband Tim, Freemen of Seaford, Laurie Holland, Keith Blackburn and the widow of the late Freeman, Don Mabey. Also in attendance were the Chairman of East Sussex County Council, Cllr David Elkin and his wife, the Mayors of Peacehaven, Lewes, Newhaven and Polegate, Major Bob Peedle, Chairman of the Seahaven Branch of The Royal Society of St George, and representatives from the East Sussex Police, Clergy, Councillors and friends and family.

The event was opened by Town Crier Mr Peter White. Following a welcome speech from the Mayor, the two charities gave a short introduction regarding the valuable work that they do

Following a buffet everyone was entertained by the Pop Up Singers and dancing continued into the night.
