SEAHAVEN FOOD BANK NEEDS YOUR HELP

April 24th, 2019.

The Seahaven Food Bank team of staff and volunteers provides food and household items to local people in crisis. This vital service is under increasing pressure with needs more than doubling over the past year.

The Food Bank, run by Sussex Community Development Association (SCDA) ensures that those in need are offered advice, information, referrals and guidance as well as practical help in the form of a food parcel.

Rob Whitehead, SCDA Advice & Inclusion Project Manager explains: "We are very grateful to local people for supporting the Food Bank and anything you can give is useful. We are especially short of tinned potatoes, instant mash, tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit, tinned fish, tinned meat, cereal and long life milk."

Seahaven Food Bank is based at 31a High Street, Newhaven and donations can be left there and at Denton Island Community Centre,  Sainsbury’s Peacehaven and Sainsbury’s Newhaven.

If you are in need of the Food Bank, drop-in is Monday to Friday 9.00am-12 noon, excluding Tuesdays.
