Driftwood Garden in Bishopstone has been awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence. The Trip Advisor email stated: "We’re pleased to announce that Driftwood Garden East Sussex has been recognized with a 2017 Certificate of Excellence, based on the consistently great reviews you’ve earned on TripAdvisor. Only select businesses receive a Certificate of Excellence, so make sure to showcase your achievement. Our summary is shown below with 52 reviews and the prestigious 5 star rating."

Owner of Driftwood, Geoff Stonebanks was completely speechless on reading that his small garden had received the award.

Driftwood is only 100 feet long at the back and 40 feet wide with a small front garden. Nonetheless, the garden has now won or been a finalist in three national gardening competitions and been featured on BBC Gardeners' World (2016) and Good Morning Britain (2014).

The written reviews on the TripAdvisor web site speak for themselves, but what is also amazing is that the garden has received over 15000 visitors since 2009 and Geoff has raised over £80000 for charity and personally baked over 5000 portions of cake.

This year alone Geoff's garden has seen seven ladies visit from Tokyo, having booked their flight based on his open days for the National Garden Scheme.

Next month a family of six from Beijing, who found the garden on TripAdvisor, are spending the day with Geoff in the garden and 30 members of the Austrian Horticultural Society came to visit en route to Chelsea Flower Show back in May, as did a French garden photographer, Phillipe Ferret, who shot the garden, hoping to feature it in a French garden magazine.

Driftwood is open to the public again this Saturday, July the 1st, with proceeds going to Family Support Work, a Sussex-based charity. Opening 11.00am to 5.00pm. £4 entry. Tea, coffee, cakes and light lunch available.
