NEWHAVEN & SEAFORD SEA CADETS UNVEIL NEW WINDOWS AT HQ

November 9 2016.

TS Defiance, the training ship for Sea Cadets in Newhaven and Seaford launched a fundraising campaign in February this year with a target of nearly £19,000 that was needed to replace their broken and vandalised windows.

Alan Rankin-Thorn, Chairman of the Management Committee explained: “We are so pleased with the generosity of the people who have donated to our cause and the local communities and charities that have clubbed together to help us raise enough money to give our beloved building the new windows it so desperately needed. Since starting this campaign I have learned how highly our unit is regarded.”

Working directly with a local supplier to bring the project in under budget meant that the 19th century church building could have the work done far sooner than anticipated.

An opening evening will be held later in the year to view the progress made inside the building and to launch the next fundraising campaign.
