SEAFORD'S NEW COUNCILLORS

October 31 2016.

Following the resignation of five former councillors back in August, the by-elections, which were administered and managed by Lewes District Council, were held on Thursday the 27th of October in the four affected wards.

The successful candidates are as follows:

Seaford Central: Maggie Wearmouth and Terry Goodman

Seaford North: Cheryl White

Seaford South: Nick Freeman

Seaford West: Bill Webb

Contact details for each of the councillors are available on the Council’s website at www.seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk

The Town Council is now back to its full quota of 20 councillors.

The new councillors will be undergoing an induction over the coming weeks, including training sessions alongside other councillors. The Full Council is then due to meet on Thursday the 10th of November to discuss various items of business, including the appointment of a Deputy Mayor of Seaford and the filling of other positions.

Further to the adoption of its Strategic Objectives earlier in the year, the Council has exciting projects in the pipeline.  These include development plans for the Seafront, Martello Fields and Crouch Gardens respectively. The purpose and use of South Hill Barn is also being reviewed to make the site a facility that can be used and an asset for the town. Council Officers are also in the early stages of looking at installing log cabins near Seaford Head Golf Course and The View, to increase the package that is being offered to visitors of both facilities.
