NEWHAVEN SCOUTS AWARDED

October 4 2016.

Steve Saunders, Vice President of the Seahaven Branch of The Royal Society of St George, along with Chairman Bob Peedle MBE, visited the Newhaven Scouts at their HQ in Fort Road, Newhaven, to give them a much-needed folding table and two benches. With the number of members growing, the scouts needed more facilities for their training and appealed to RSSG for help.

At the presentation Steve Saunders said: "It is a privilege to help this Scout Troop, especially as a few years ago I was here as one of you. I know that you will make good use of this gift."

The Seahaven Branch of The Royal Society of St George prefers to use its spare money to buy useful gifts for local charities, associations and worthwhile local projects. The money is raised through donations, proceeds of raffles or auctions at their monthly functions, or attending boot fairs, such as the October Rotary fair in Seaford, where, not only was £100 added to their funds, but quite a few people also asked about membership of the branch.
