WAVES WINS AWARD FOR COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Seaford’s Waves Family Support has scooped a prestigious award following sixteen years of voluntary work with the Seaford Community,and nine years after opening its Drop-in Centre in Church Street.


On Tuesday,May the 10th, members of the WAVES team were presented with an award at the 2016 SPARK Award Ceremony for Advice and Guidance Achievement. SPARK is the operating name for East Sussex Council for Voluntary Youth Services. This award recognises the many hours that the volunteers and family workers have given in support to all the families that have come to them.

At the same ceremony WAVES was presented with the bronze level of the SPARK SQP Quality Assurance certificate. This recognises that the services WAVES offers reached the required quality assurance level.

WAVES Family Support (no connection with Wave Leisure Ltd) has been working with families in Seaford for over 16 years and has supported many families in Seaford through difficult times. The Drop-in Centre in Church Street has been an oasis for many parents and carers struggling with everything that family life throws at them.

WAVES has announced an open invitation to its ‘arts@sbc’ Art and Photographic Exhibition at Seaford Baptist Church on Saturday the 28th of May from 10.00a.m. through to  4.00p.m. and again on Sunday the 29th of May from 12 noon through to  4.00p.m. Entry is free. Tea and coffee will be available and some of the artwork will be for sale.
