SEAFORD TOWN COUNCIL LAUNCHES COMMUNITY GRANT SCHEME

April 7 2016.

Seaford Town Council has anounced that its Annual Grants Scheme is now open for applications. Each year the Council extends the opportunity to local community groups, charities or voluntary organisations to apply for a financial grant from the Council’s grants pool.

In the 2015/16 scheme the Council was able to support the local community with grants totalling in excess of £28,000.

There are certain criteria that must be met to be eligible for a community grant and these are set out in the Council’s Grants Policy that is available from its website at www.seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk

There are two types of grant available; small grants of up to £500, or larger grants over £500, up to a maximum of £3,000. Terms and conditions do apply of course.

In previous years grants have been awarded for a variety of projects such as protective flying equipment for the Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance Crew, pressure relieving cushions for patients at St Wilfred’s Hospice and funding specialist counselling support for the charity Waves. Grants have also been awarded to help ensure the continuation of services offered that have a clear benefit to the community and residents of Seaford, such as the Dial-A-Ride bus service, Seaford Stroke & Caring Club and Seaford Citizens Advice Bureau.

For an application form  email Lucy Clark, Support Services Manager on lucy.clark@seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk or telephone 01323 894 870.

The closing date for applications to be submitted by is noon on Friday the 17th of June 2016.
