BACCA'S BETTER COFFEE BAR

March 18 2016.

A Seaford family business is bringing a taste of South America to the town by opening a new coffee shop which is also supporting local suppliers.

Sarah and Nimeir Baca’s venture opened its doors in Dane Road earlier this month and is aiming to add something different to Seaford’s thriving food and drinks scene.

Sarah, who grew up in Seaford, said: “Nimeir worked here when it was called Sea Salt. When the chance came to buy the place from the previous owner we jumped at it.

“We’ll be opening at 7.00am to serve thirsty commuters as we’re just around the corner from the station. We’ve also listened to people who have said they wanted local coffee shops to stay open until 5.00pm and that’s exactly what we’ll be doing.

“We are selling some of the finest single origin coffees from across the globe, including Columbia, Guatemala and Ethiopia. We’ll also be selling award-winning teas from the Bluebird Tea Company in Brighton.

“We have tried to make the coffee bar as child-friendly as possible. Our aim is simply to give people great coffee, fabulous food and warm welcomes.”

The couple, who have two young daughters, are going to great lengths to ensure their range is locally, ethically and responsibly sourced.

Sarah added: “Our cakes are baked in Seaford by a superb baker called Beth Funnell. Our coffee beans are roasted in Horsham, our bread is baked daily in Brighton and as much produce as possible is sourced from local farms. We like to think that, not only does our food and drink taste great, it also does a little bit of good along the way.”

Nimeir added: “It’s been nerve wracking getting the bar ready for the opening and at times it’s been pretty stressful, as there’s always an element of risk in any new business. However, it’s also really exciting and we are passionate about what we do. We have received some great feedback and lots of local support from people already.”

Baca’s Coffee Bar is at 2 Dane Road, Seaford, BN25 3OX.
