CHARITY OPENS ITS DOORS TO NEW RECYCLING CENTRE IN NEWHAVEN

February 12 2016.

An excited crowd watched as the Town Mayor of Newhaven, Councillor Steve Saunders, cut the ribbon to officially open the new Age UK East Sussex Donation Centre and Furniture Warehouse earlier this week.

The spacious new Donation Centre, based at Units D1 and E at Ranalah Trade Park in New Road, Newhaven, (BN9 0EH), is handily placed right next door to Newhaven Refuse and Recycling site. So, rather than tip your unwanted household items, you can now donate your furniture, white goods, electricals and household items and Age UK East Sussex will recycle them to raise funds to support local older people.

The expanded site sees the bringing together of the previous two Newhaven sites under one roof. With ample free parking there is no place like it in the area. Plus, if you are unable to drop off your items, a free House Clearance and De-Clutter collection service is available. Call 01273 646800 to arrange a free collection.

As Emma Head, the Warehouse manager, explained: “We are so grateful to the local community for their generous donations. Our aim is to re-sell and recycle as many items as we can, which helps raise funds and stops so many items going to landfill. We are open from Monday to Sunday, 10.00am to 5.00pm.“

All the money raised through this new Donation Centre will help fund the vital services that Age UK East Sussex, formerly Age Concern, provide to support those in later life in the local community.
