Local runners, Cliff Dargonne, Paul Roberts and Anna Dilley have been leading a Back to Running group on Sunday mornings for the last two years.

Having completed Run England Leader in Running Fitness courses, the group initially followed a suggested ten week programme, but has developed into a regular weekly group. The group has been running at Tide Mills, around Bishopstone, Peacehaven and over Firle Beacon.

Statistics show that it hardly ever rains at 8:30am on a Sunday, (honest), and the early start means that you still have the day to yourself and can enjoy your Sunday roast with a smile!

A small donation has been made each week, resulting in over £1400 being collected which has been passed to the local Remember Spencer charity.

Amanda Roberts from Remember Spencer explains: "The regular donations are fantastic. They soon add up and will make a big difference to our small charity. The running club has made a big impact on our lives and we all agree that we have such fun and more importantly get fit, or try to, at the same time."

The main purpose of the course is fitness rather than competition and anyone who fancies returning to running would be welcome to join the next ten week course which will be starting this Sunday, the 7th of February, meeting at the CrossFit Corinthian gym in Beech Close, Newhaven.
