Sussex County Football League Division One team Newhaven FC, known as the Dockers, have a reputation for developing and bringing on local youth players and have praised a young record-breaker who has come through the ranks.

Kyle Woolven, 16, has become the first player in Dockers history to net for all three adult teams in one season. Playing for the Under 18's, 21's and First Team sides, Kyle has appeared on the score sheet as he impressed and was given opportunities in all three squads.

Currently a student at Brighton and Hove Albion's AITC college, Kyle joined Newhaven after scoring over 500 goals in his junior football side career for DaSH JFC. He was also named runner-up in the Young Sportsman of the Year category in the 2015 Community Stars Awards and East Sussex Youth Awards.

Dockers First Team Manager, Sean Breach, praised Youth Manager, Kieran Ridley, in a recent game programme for progressing talented young players including Brent Stonard, Harry Eyre, Lukas Jones, Ian Robinson, Cal Connors, Henry Daly and Connor Jones for opportunities in the senior side.
