December 18 2015.
Seaford Town Council has submitted an application to Lewes District Council for the designation of the entire parish as a Neighbourhood Area with the intention of preparing a Neighbourhood Plan. This application is the first stage towards the creation of a Neighbourhood Plan; something that was discussed by the Town Council at its meeting in September 2015, when it was highlighted as a priority to be addressed by the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group.
Anyone wishing to make representations on whether Seaford Parish is an appropriate Neighbourhood Area can do so up until 5.00pm on Friday the 8th of January 2016.
Further details, including how to make a representation and a map of the proposed Neighbourhood Area, can be found on the Neighbourhood Planning webpage at
www.lewes.gov.uk/planning/19084.aspInvitations to tender have been sent out with a view to appointing a specialist organisation to control and facilitate the plan.
Further updates will be made on the Neighbourhood Area application and appointment of a consultant in the new year.
In the meantime, any members of the public who feel they have relevant knowledge or experience and would like to get involved with the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group should, in the first instance, contact Councillor Mark Brown at
