SEAFORD MAYOR'S CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE

December 11 2015.

Seaford Baptist Church was alive with community spirit on Monday as almost 200 people including local dignitaries, councillors and members of the public were in attendance for the Mayor of Seaford’s Christmas Carol Service.

During the service the children of the Seaford Primary Chamber Choir, directed and accompanied by Kate Steer, performed carols for the audience. The congregation joined in with other well-loved carols, led by the Seaford Baptist Church Concert Choir. Readings were given by Laurie Holland, Peter White, Bob Peedle, Peter Fenwick, Frank Parker and Mayor Argent.

After the service, everyone enjoyed tea, mince pies and cake baked by the Mayoress. Thanks to donations at the end of the service, over £150 was raised for the Mayor’s charities; Seaford Lifeguards and CTLA.

Mayor Argent said: “I would like to  thank everyone who took the time to come along. It was great to see so many people. I would also like to thank Reverend Vicky Martin and the SBC Concert Choir, everyone who volunteered their time to help with the event, Kate and the school choir and especially to my wife for the time she spent making the beautiful flower arrangements and cakes that everyone enjoyed so much.”
