NEWHAVEN MAYOR TO OPEN LIFEBOAT CHRISTMAS FAYRE

The RNLI message to Respect the Water has been promoted in various ways through media advertising this year and Newhaven & District Lifeboat Society has seen another busy year of fundraising, culminating with the Lifeboat Christmas Fayre being held at the Hillcrest Centre, Hillcrest Road, Newhaven this Saturday, the 28th of November, from 10.00am to 1.00pm.


The volunteer lifeboat crew are set to have had one of their busiest year's ever, with over 60 call outs already. Graham Hillman, Secretary for the Lifeboat Fundraising Society said: 'Although the educational message to Respect the Water is being heard, with more people than ever taking to and enjoying the benefits of the water, there is clearly still so much to be done.'

RNLI Newhaven is especially proud that Newhaven Mayor, Cllr. Steve Saunders, will be opening the Christmas Fayre on Saturday at 10.00am. The 1st prize for the Winter Raffle is a sumptuous Christmas hamper kindly donated by Sainsbury's and is worth over £100.00.
