RAISING THE COSTA CONCORDIA

November 23 2015.

The Costa Concordia ran aground on 13 January 2012, resulting in the loss of life of 32 passengers. Newhaven-based company Titan Salvage was appointed as lead contractor to remove the wreck.

The two year operation became the largest and most expensive wreck removal project in history. Titan successfully righted, re-floated and towed the vessel to Genova for scrapping.

Titan's Mike Stockwell tells the story at Newhaven Historical Society's presentation at The Hillcrest Centre, Hillcrest Road, Newhaven, BN9 9EA on Tuesday the 1st of December. Arrive at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.

Free entry to Newhaven Historical Society members and just £2.00 for guests.
