WORKING WITH WAVES

November 20 2015.

Peter White reports:

The staff and volunteers at Seaford Charity "WAVES Family Support" are hard at work preparing for our Arts, Crafts and Hobbies Fayre, running on November 21st. We are inviting all crafters to join us to display and sell their work. No charge will be made for the table, but if items are sold we request a donation of 15% of these sales.

If you are a craft or hobby enthusiast, please consider joining in this event. You do not have to sell items, but it would be good to celebrate the skills and hobbies of local people. If you don’t have a particular hobby, just come along and enjoy the skills of others. Perhaps you can find that elusive Christmas present!

The event will be held at Seaford Baptist Church in Belgrave Road from 10.00 until 5.00p.m. on Saturday, November 21st. Tea, Coffee and cakes will be available.

During the afternoon there will be children’s and adult art and craft activities available at only 50p per activity. Booking forms for ‘crafters’ are available from the WAVES Centre, 8 Church Street, Seaford, ring 01323 873797 or email wavesseaford@btconnect.com

WAVES has also started a Knit and Natter Group. The first meeting was held on Wednesday, 14th October at the WAVES Centre in Church Street. This group meets fortnightly from 2.00 until 3.30p.m. You are welcome to join us and the next session is on 25th November. If you don’t knit, or indeed crochet, but would like to learn, come along and we will show you how.

WAVES will also be present at the Seaford Christmas Magic on Broad Street on 5th December and the WAVES Centre will be open for hot chocolate and face painting.

*WAVES is the Seaford-based Family-Support organisation offering drop-in facilities Monday to Thursday mornings. Parents and Carers are encouraged to visit with babies and toddlers. The WAVES Centre also hosts the East Sussex Credit Union on Monday afternoons.
