LDC BACKS CTLA

November 6 2015.

A unanimous vote at the full Lewes District Council (LDC) meeting on the 14th of October gave the green light for community transport charity CTLA to co-ordinate a working party that will discuss common issues of providing community led transportation support in the district.

By meeting the transport needs that public transport fails to provide, CTLA and similar organisations help address social isolation and loneliness and contributes to the improvement of health and wellbeing of Lewes District residents.

The first meeting of the working party, which will involve councillors from all levels of local authorities and other stakeholders, will be in January at the Hillcrest Centre in Newhaven and the opening address will be given by local MP, Maria Caulfield, and Councillor Stephen Gauntlett, who brought the motion to LDC.
