NEWHAVEN BOWLING CLUB JUNIORS MAKE PROGRESS

August 18 2015.

Three of Newhaven Bowling Club junior players have made big strides in the game so far this summer.

Luke Gray progressed to the Sussex County Under 25 final played at Popes Mead in Crawley. A good consistent player he unfortunately lost to Ajay Morphett of Spartans (Bexhill). Earlier in the season he progressed with Ken Davis to the County Quarter Finals in the pairs competition. He is still in the running for most of the club competitions this year.

Bradley Page was recognized for his bowls achievements by his school, Seaford Head. He attended a presentation evening and received a certificate and recognition in the game. Both Luke and Bradley play in men’s and mixed league games for Newhaven every weekend and some evenings. As part of a squad of players they helped Newhaven to 4th place in the Brighton & Hove League 3rd Division this year.

Ross Montrey has progressed from the junior ranks. He is starting to take part in weekend matches and with a good looking smooth action will go on to progress further.

Final news is that a team from Newhaven won the Adastra (Hassocks) open tournament recently. The representative team of B Ginn, S Davis, L & K Davis saw off all comers on the day to successfully win.
