ST. ANDREW'S CHURCH FETE

August 13 2015.

Maria Kinnersley reports:

On Saturday the 1st of August the sun came out from behind the clouds to greet this annual fete held on The Egg in Bishopstone village. This made for a very well attended event.

Stalls selling bric a brac, materials, plants, books (together with CD’s and DVD’s), as well as a bottle tombola for adults, a sweet tombola for children, a games stall, Punch & Judy and your portrait drawn and various charity stalls, were all available to be sampled. The Dog Show drew crowds as did the Seaford Silver Band who entertained with their music.

Food was also available, with burgers and bacon rolls for sale together with rolls, cakes and drinks.

The fete was opened by Father Trevor Smyth, with the Rector Father Andrew Mayes in attendance. Also present during the afternoon were the local MP, Maria Caulfield and the mayor, Councillor David Argent.

Around £4,000 has been raised, which will go towards the funding of the work of St Andrew’s Church together with its maintenance.

Many thanks to all who helped or participated in any way.
