NEWHAVEN AIR CADETS JOIN POPPY WALK

July 24 2015.

A number of the cadets from 1218 (Newhaven) Air Cadets joined 400 walkers last Sunday for the annual Royal British Legion London Poppy Walk, where participants search for clues en route and test their knowledge of London.

Setting out from Wellington Barracks, they followed a 10km trail around a maze of London’s historic streets, taking in some familiar (and some not so familiar!) sights along the way.

It was a fun day out for everyone and the cadets raised in the region of £500 to support The Royal British Legion's vital work in safeguarding the welfare, interests and memory of the Armed Forces community. They even met RBL's Poppy Mascot.

1218 Air Cadets meet every Monday and Thursday evening at their squadron in Transit Road, Newhaven, and are open to boys and girls aged 12 (school year 8) to 18 years.

1218 squadron covers the area from East Saltdean along the coast to Seaford and Lewes in the north.

For more information email: 1218@aircadets.org or call 01273 513218 on a parade night.
