HISTORY IN ACTION AT NEWHAVEN FORT

June 9 2015.

Its 200 years this year since the Battle of Waterloo and this weekend Newhaven Fort and Hands on History are giving you the chance to join Wellington’s Army.

Visit Newhaven Fort this weekend and you will get the opportunity to experience joining up and try on the uniform of a British Redcoat soldier or his Officer. There are a range of sizes so kids of all ages can join in the fun.

You will also have the opportunity to handle the muskets and flintlock pistols that a Napoleonic soldier would have used, and watch as the replica Howitzer cannon fires throughout the day.

The Fort’s permanent exhibits and audio visual presentations will also be open as usual, along with the Searchlight Café, Guard Room Gift Shop and under 12’s outdoor playground.

Opening times are 10.30am to 6.00pm - last entry 5.00pm. Tickets can be purchased on the door at the normal entry fee.
