RAMPION WIND FARM IS GOOD NEWS FOR STUDENTS

May 20 2015.

Jonathan Clarke, principal of UTC@harbourside in Newhaven, has welcomed the news that work will start on the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm early next year.

"The go-ahead for the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm is great news for young people across Sussex," says Jonathan. "We look forward to developing strong links with E.ON to make the most of opportunities for UTC@harbourside students to learn through real-world projects and potentially move into apprenticeships and fulfilling careers.

"There are great synergies between our focus on renewable technologies and engineering and the skills that will be needed to build and run the wind farm and its operations base in Newhaven.

"E.ON has already pledged to help shape and support the curriculum and advise our academic staff. and one of our first projects for 14 and 15 year olds is a Rampion-inspired challenge to design a wind turbine.

" I am also delighted that a member of E.ON staff will sit on our board of governors."
