Shem Gardner,  the landlord of The Hope on the West Quay at Newhaven, reports:


We wanted to give an update of what has been happening at the pub recently and what's coming up.

We have been focusing on raising money for local charities and our first of the year was Hadyn's Wish, to raise awareness of asthma and allergies .We raised nearly £400 with music from Vagabond Blues, cake sales and Karakoke.

This Bank Holiday we have been raising funds for the Macmillan Nurses with Vagabond Blues on Sunday and selling 100 draw boxes for a cash prize of £50. So far we have raised £250 and we will continue with Macmillan for the next couple of weeks, selling wristbands at the pub.
