SEAFORD CHRISTMAS MAGIC FAMILY ZONE AT THE CLINTON CENTRE

November 28 2014.

Seaford Christmas Magic returns next Saturday, the 6th of December. Organised by Seaford Town Council and Seaford Chamber of Commerce, this year’s event is an all-day Market and Christmas Fayre from 10.00am to 5.00pm, with the shops open for their normal trading hours.

Seaford schools have joined together to bring a range of stalls, crafts and activities for children at the Clinton Centre, located at the top of Broad Street. This initiative is called ‘Seaford Schools Together’ and was organised by Carol Edwards who said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for all of Seaford’s schools to work together in the community and we are looking forward to being a part of Seaford Christmas Magic.”

Seaford Schools Together invites visitors to enjoy a range of warm refreshments, arts and crafts and a safe place to entertain the kids and take the shopping weight off their feet. All proceeds will be going directly into the local schools to enhance the education and learning activities in the future.

For the first time there will also be a children’s Lantern Parade through Broad Street at 4.00pm. Organised by Seaford Family Focus, working with the schools and sponsored by Toytown and Splashpoint Music, children are invited to make their own lanterns in the Clinton Centre throughout the day and join in the parade with their parent or guardian in the late afternoon.

Most of the Seaford shops are taking part in a Best Dressed Window competition, which will be judged by a panel from Seaford and dignitaries from our surrounding towns.

Mayor of Seaford, Mark Brown said: “Seaford Town Council and the Seaford Chamber of Commerce are trying a new concept this year for the town Christmas festivities.

“This event is also supported by our local schools, charities and community groups, who are all contributing to the festivities. This is a wonderful example of the community working together and I wish it every success.”

There has been a high level of support from local businesses and organisations and information on all of the event’s sponsors and supporters, as well as more information about the event can be found at www.seafordxmasmagic.uk.

Volunteers are needed to help steward the event in order to make it a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
