NEW TOWN CLERK FOR SEAFORD

November 14 2014.

Seaford Town Council has confirmed that a new permanent Town Clerk has been appointed - James Corrigan formally accepted the role after approval was given for his appointment at the Council’s recent meeting.

Mr Corrigan has been the Interim Town Clerk since the suspension of the former Clerk following the independent investigation and has achieved much in his few months with the Council.

Upon taking the post James has said: “I was delighted to receive the news that the Council had agreed to appoint me as the new Town Clerk serving the people of Seaford, a town I have very quickly grown to like very much indeed. I am grateful for this opportunity.

"I look forward to working with and for all Councillors past, present and future, as well as the many groups in the town and local residents.

"I was attracted to stay here in Seaford as I believe the Council has massive potential to deliver so many significant projects for the benefit of the town and its residents. Also there is a great team at the Council who are all very keen to work for the community.”

Councillor Mark Brown, Mayor for Seaford and Chair of the recruitment panel, said: "We welcome James in to the role of Town Clerk and look forward to working with him over the coming years. There are exciting times and projects ahead! I would also like to thank all the other applicants who took the time to show an interest in the post and wish them all the best for the future."
