NCDA TO SCDA

October 8 2014.

Sussex Community Development Association (SCDA) celebrated its change of name from NCDA (Newhaven Community Development Association) last Friday at Denton Island Community Centre.

The Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, Peter Field, Norman Baker MP and SCDA Patron Caroline Mayhew joined the celebrations and were kind enough to say a few words.

Following over seventeen years working in the local community, SCDA continues to be based in Newhaven and supports many projects and activities within the town. The new SCDA name now more accurately reflects the growth in projects across East Sussex.

Graham Amy, Chair of SCDA said, ‘We are proud of our staff and partners who work incredibly hard providing a wide range of services and projects for local people. From outstanding quality childcare at Denton Island Nursery to youth clubs, advice services and help for the unemployed. Moving forward as SCDA means making a difference in more communities across East Sussex.’
