SUPPORT FOR CTLA FROM NPT ROTARY CLUB

August 29 2014.

Community Transport charity manager, Derek Barnett, was delighted to attend the Newhaven, Peacehaven and Telscombe Rotary Club lunch last week and receive a cheque for £1000 from Vice President Jacqui Whiteley and past president Betty Graves, to help support their aims of preventing isolation and loneliness due to transport or mobility problems.

CTLA is a Newhaven-based charity that undertakes over seven thousand passenger journeys a month and relies on the support of organisations like the Rotary Club to help vulnerable and isolated service users.
The popular travel club helps bring back a social life and enjoyment to those who may not have family or friends around and dial-a-ride responsive services help people attend doctors and other appointments.

Recent feedback from service users:

“If I couldn't use CTLA's services, I could only afford either shopping, healthcare or social trips. To me all three of these things are essential for dignified living.”

“I am unable to get on and off public buses now, having had so many falls. I have been so grateful for the CTLA bus to take me to the Co-op and my return home.”
