NORMAN SUPPORTING DIEP-HAVEN ART FESTIVAL

August 13 2014.

On Tuesday the 19th of August, the Newhaven to Dieppe ferry will be transformed into an art gallery, performance space, with music and projections and other events on board, featuring artists from both sides of the channel.

The Dieppe arts festival will, for the first time, be travelling from Dieppe to Newhaven to celebrate artists from both sides of the channel. A range of artists and performers will be on board from both England and France, including local performers from Newhaven.

At 8.30am on 19 August, Newhaven MP Norman Baker, Jon Clarke, the new Principle Designate of UTC@harbourside in Newhaven and Lewes District Council Councillor Rob Blackman, will meet with the artists and performers for coffee and croissants before waving off the floating Diep – Haven Arts Festival.

Norman says: “This is unique stage of the festival which will help to develop relationships between artists from both sides of the channel. This is also a great opportunity to showcase the wonderful artistic strength we have locally as well as to promote the connection between Newhaven and Dieppe”
