FRIENDS OF TIDE MILLS JULY REPORT

July 20 2014.

Jim Skinner reports:

The Friends of Tide Mills completed its July meeting today in fairly humid conditions. 14 of us managed around seven sacks of rubbish this time around, which means that so far into this Summer season the whole area from the Buckle to the East Pier is still in very fine shape.

Again, as we enter into the main holiday season, we would like to request that everybody who visits this special area please ensures no litter is left behind. Together we can all make sure Tide Mills remains well cared for and championed for all to enjoy.

We would like again to remind that Wheatears, Ringed Plovers, Skylarks and several other species of bird are still nesting and fledging and request that visitors keep disturbance to a minimum if at all possible. If dogs could be kept under tight control that would be most appreciated.

Our next meeting is Sunday the 17th of August, (always the third Sunday of each month), meeting at 10.00am at the waymarker adjacent to the beach at the road leading from the level crossing. Our meetings last nominally for two hours but all are welcome, no matter how much time can be spared.

Our meeting in August will include our annual Summer Picnic, to which all members past and present are very welcome to come along to.
