SEAFORD MAYOR GOES MAD

July 17 2014.

Seaford Mayor, Cllr. Mark Brown joined with the team from Waves family support charity and Seaford based folk band 'The Band of Brothers' last Saturday to celebrate the launch of a new campaign supporting families in Seaford.

The event was held at Seaford Constitutional Club and consisted of an evening of music, raffle and a Name the Bear competition.

The main aim of the evening was to launch the new campaign MAD4Families (Make A Difference for Families) where Waves is seeking 400 Seaford residents to give £4 per month to support local families at their time of need. Signing up entitles you to a limited-edition MAD mug!

Waves Family charity, Seaford, (not to be confused with Wave Leisure), is one of Mayor Mark Brown's chosen charities for the year.

Vicky Martin, chair of Waves said: "Mark's support has been invaluable in raising awareness of the charity at a time when we have been at our busiest. It seems benefit changes and changes in culture have all had their mark of our society. Families and our children, are paying the price.

"Stress and family breakdown has never been so prevalent as we are now experiencing. However, Waves will continue to try to help Seaford families in the best way we can and whilst we can, but our own funds are getting harder to raise and find too."
