UP 'N' DOWNS KEEP YOU BOUNCING IN SEAFORD

June 24 2014.

The “Up ‘n’ Downs” competitive Trampoline Club was founded ten years ago by head coach Karen Waddington and its first competitive performer, Lauren Maskell. Since then the club has grown in size and reputation. The club now has over 70 squad performers, the youngest being 6 years old.

The club meets on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at the Downs Leisure Centre in Seaford and Wednesdays and Thursdays at Lewes Leisure Centre.

There are two types of competitive structure, the Grading System and the National Development Programme. In recent months the club members have achieved great things in both programmes.

At a national competition in Coventry during May, Zara Munday achieved 2nd place, earning herself a national Silver medal. Nine year old Ryan Brown took first place and a national Gold medal in his very first season on the national circuit.

In early June the National Development Programme finals were held in Exeter and three of “Up ‘n’ Downs” performers competed. Mollie Woodward and Lewes Pryor completed excellent routines and Mai Wiley took 2nd place, forming part of the South East team who came 6th overall.

In mid June Emily Martin and Megan Finney competed in a National competition in Newcastle. They each performed individual routines and then a synchronized routine where they came 2nd.

“Up ‘n’ Downs” has a formidable record in competitions with at least one performer on the podium at each competition, proving that hard work pays off and the coaches are doing a great job of developing member's abilities.

Karren Waddington stated: “We are all immensely proud of our performers and what they have achieved.”

The club will be demonstrating as a part of the Seaford Family Fun Day on Sunday the 20th of July between 10.30am and 12 noon.
