NEWHAVEN'S BASTILLE BISTRO BASH

Newhaven Twinning Association is hosting a four course bistro dinner to celebrate the French National Day, otherwise known as Bastille Day
The dinner will be a celebration of French food and is open to non-members as well as members of the Twinning Association.

Bastille Day is celebrated on July the 14th every year, but as that falls on a Monday this year, the gourmet event will take place on Saturday the 12th of July at Denton Island Community Centre on Denton Island at 7.00pm for 7.30pm.

Newhaven is twinned with the town of La Chapelle St. Mesmin on the outskirts of Orleans on the north bank of the Loire.

Chairman of the Twinning Association, Norman Hopson, said: “This promises to be a great evening with expertly cooked food, a grand raffle and lots of “bonhomie.

“We only have 40 places available, so please reserve your seats as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”

Newhaven Twinning Association is going from strength to strength with nearly 50 members and is currently fund-raising with quizzes, car boot sales at Paradise Park and tombola’s at local fetes. The money raised will go towards hosting members of the La Chapelle St Mesmin twinning associationwhen they visit Newhaven in October.
