SEAFORD RAIL 150 COMPETITION WINNERS

June 9 2014.

To help Seaford celebrate the 150 Years' Anniversary of the rail link with Brighton last Saturday, local businesses added to the air of festivity in the town with special window displays.

16 took part and showed great ingenuity in developing displays on a general theme of railways.

Two judging panels, of artists, and a local school, found it hard to differentiate between the best examples.

Accordingly the runners-up in joint 4th place were Wynn's of Place Lane and the Retro Market in High Street.

Prizewinners were, joint 2nd, Seaford Home Hardware of Clinton Place, and Cooper and Son Funeral Directors, also of Clinton Place. Judges singled out Seaford Home Hardware for the ingenuity of its design of a steam engine outlined in nuts and bolts.

Overal winner was Foam and Fabrics in Broad Street.

Prizes were supplied by Southern Railway, and were presented by Milly, Seaford's Young Mayor on the Station Platform during Saturday's packed celebrations.
