POLICE CALL FOR WITNESSES TO YESTERDAY'S NEWHAVEN-SEAFORD ROAD ACCIDENT

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision between a car and a bus on the Newhaven to Seaford road near Stud Farm yesterday.


A white Toyota Yaris and a Brighton and Hove bus were both travelling in the same direction towards Newhaven when they collided.

The driver of the bus, a 67-year-old from Seaford, and three passengers, a 57-year-old woman from Peacehaven, a 78-year-old woman from Saltdean and a 17-year-old girl from Newhaven, were all treated for minor injuries.

Two passengers in the Toyota, two 42-year-old men from Newhaven, were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, one in an air ambulance. The other passenger, a 17-year-old from Newhaven, received a minor injury. The driver, an 18-year-old, also from Newhaven, was uninjured.

PC Richard Hobbs said: "This was a busy time of day and we are appealing for anyone who saw what happened and has not yet spoken to us, to please get in touch. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 803 of 27/5."
