FRIENDS OF TIDE MILLS MAY REPORT

May 19 2014.

Jim Skinner reports:

The Friends of Tide Mills  completed its meeting for May yesterday. 16 of us managed around 13 sacks of rubbish this time around and generally speaking the whole area from the Buckle to East Pier is in very fine shape. The Sea Kale plants in particular are in full flower with their spectacular white/cream heads waving in the wind.

Wheatears and, possibly, Ringed Plovers are nesting just now and obviously we ask that visitors keep disturbance to a minimum if at all possible. If Dogs could be kept under tight control that would be most appreciated.

Our next meeting is Sunday the 15th of June - always the third Sunday of each month - meeting at 10.00am at the waymarker adjacent to the beach at the road leading from the level crossing. Our meetings last nominally for two hours, but all are welcome no matter how much time can be spared.
