Nominations for the Seahaven Business Awards 2014 have now closed. The Seahaven Business Awards, which have been growing in size and popularity every year since their inception over 12 years ago, celebrate excellence amongst the Seahaven business community. These awards are designed to recognise and reward the businesses which always put customers first, the businesses that show a real commitment to their staff, that take pride in being part of the community and businesses which drive to succeed in the current economic climate.

There has been an overwhelming response to this year’s Awards – over 1100 nomination papers have been received for over 74 different companies right across the Seahaven district. Annie Lorys, president of Newhaven Chamber of Commerce said, ‘We are thrilled at the response this year. We didn’t think we would be able to cap the success of last year’s event, but it looks as if we have. This response shows how the Seahaven Business Awards are perceived as the premier Business Awards in the Seahaven and Lewes District.’

The judging has now taken place for the six awards. Judges included Norman Baker MP, the Mayor of Newhaven, Julie Carr and the presidents of Newhaven, Peacehaven and Seaford Chambers. The winners will be announced at the Chamber Presidents’ Gala Dinner on Friday the 9th of May 2014 at Peacehaven Golf Club, in the presence of His Excellency Vu Quang Minh, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK and Ireland, and other distinguished guests.

There will also be a special raffle on the evening, with all proceeds going to charity, with some fabulous prizes; Vietnam Airlines has donated two return tickets (excluding airline departure tax) to Vietnam, Co-op Funeral Care Newhaven a luxury hamper, The Flower Shed a stunning flower arrangement and Mike Shorer Fine Jewellery some beautiful, handmade jewellery, plus many other items.

Tickets cost just £30 each which includes a glass of bubbly on arrival and a three course meal followed by coffee and mints.
