FANCY A HIGHLAND FLING?

April 2 2014

Scottish dancing in Sussex is alive and well and looking for new members from Seaford to Shoreham to have a go and have fun.

Make new friends in a traditional social activity that is both energising and fun. Keeping fit to a rhythm and dancing in a group to great music is easy to pick up. Try a local free training session to experience how to keep fit and socialise, without having to invest in any special clothing.

Start with whatever you are comfortable in; just bring some soft flat shoes. No need to bring a partner but the more the merrier.

As you pick up the moves you may want to dress in traditional highland ball clothing but really it is not essential to joining in the group dances.

Club members enjoy an annual ball to raise funds for charities where many clubs come together for a social gathering in Lewes. Regional shindigs take place at various local venues where full regalia are enjoyed but never compulsory.

The Brighton & Hove Scottish Country Dance Club is keen to welcome new members at Balfour Primary School, Balfour Road, Brighton any Thursday at 7.30 pm (term time only).
