The Sea Shanty and Songs of the Sea Entertainment evening held in aid of RNLI Newhaven at the Lifeboat House recently was a resounding success, raising £484.17.

The evening was enjoyed by the complete sell-out audience who were suitably entertained by local folk singing group Hard Pressed. The second half of the entertainment was interrupted for a very short time by the sound of a couple of pagers being heard as the lifeboat had received a call for assistance and a couple of the volunteer crew happened to be in the audience at the time; a poignant reminder of why everyone was there in the first instance.

The next fundraising event will be a coffee morning on Saturday April 5th, hosted by Derek and Ann Payne at 2 Bay Vue Road, Newhaven from 10am - 12 noon. Enquiries to rnlinewhaven.society@hotmail.co.uk
