THE DENTON CHALLENGE IS BACK

March 26 2014

The popular Family Sports and Fun Day ‘Denton Challenge’ is back for a third year running on Saturday June 7th.

It is being staged on Avis Road Recreation Ground - opposite Tate's Garage/ Paradise Park - from 1-to-5pm and culminating in a Community Barbecue. Each year the event has a theme and this year it is ‘The Road to Rio’ to commemorate the forthcoming Football World Cup in Brazil.

Admission to the ground is free and there will be challenges and entertainment for all ages provided by local sports and social clubs. There will be an arena with various displays including dog agility, drumming and dancing displays. Other attractions include rides on a model steam engine, climbing wall, bouncy castle, tug of war, beer tent plus community and charity stalls on the field.

In addition this year there is a Craft Fair in Denton Community Centre, which will be run alongside the Denton Challenge and will be open 1-5pm. Admission is free.

This is a charity event and money raised will be divided between three local charities; the James Daniels Memorial Fund, Friends and Associates of Denton School (FADS) and Sy. Leonards Church.
