TWO SHOPS BURGLED IN SEAFORD

February 17 2014.

Police in Seaford are appealing for information following two linked burglaries at shops in the High Street last night. Some time between 4.00pm yesterday and 8.50am this morning, Red Rooster IT and neighbouring property Toytown were entered after a door to flats at the rear was forced open. The intruders then entered the IT shop via a window, but at this stage it is not clear whether anything was stolen.

They then made a hole through an internal wall in a communal entrance hall, to get into the neighbouring toyshop. Once inside they forced open the till and stole about £900 cash. Also stolen was a large quantity of Lego and Sylvanian Family Toys, valued at several thousand pounds.

PC Duncan Ford said: " It is possible that the burglars used a vehicle to remove the stolen toys which are all boxed and brand new. If anybody saw any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the properties on Sunday evening or overnight, especially at the rear, we would like to hear from them. Did you see a vehicle or anybody carrying boxes of toys?

"If you are offered any new boxed Lego or Sylvanian Toys, or know anybody who has suddenly acquired quantities of them, contact 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 239 of 17/2. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111."
