Newhaven Historical Society will be co-operating with other local organisations to commemorate the important part Newhaven and Newhaven people played in the ‘Great War’.

A special exhibit in the Newhaven Local and Maritime Museum will open later in the year to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the war and the Society is keen to include as many stories about Newhaven men and women who served in the war and would like to include personal artefacts in the exhibition. Items are being requested for display that are relevant to the events of 1914 – 1918; perhaps items of military hardware, objects, documents and photographs which illustrate the part played by family members.
