THE GIFT TO SEAFORD

December 4 2013.

Seaford Baptist Church is becoming well-known for its musical evenings. There was “We’ll Meet Again” for the Jubilee, “Two Sisters and a Funeral” in May, and a Folk Evening with The Band of Brothers in July.

Now for Christmas SBC is presenting “The Gift”, a powerful musical entertainment by internationally-known songwriter Graham Kendrick.

Christmas is seen by most people as a time for goodwill, family, entertainment, and giving and receiving gifts. Add to that the Christian perspective that the greatest gift of all, Jesus, was freely given to anyone who wants to receive Him, and that makes Christmas even more special.

This evening production, on Friday the 13th of December at 7.30pm and Sunday the 15th of December at 6.00pm runs at Seaford Baptist Church in Belgrave Road. It is followed by refreshments and admission is free!

The Gift is suitable for all ages and runs for about 90 minutes. There will be a collection for Waves, Seaford's Family-support charity.

Taking part are the SBC Concert Choir, The Band of Brothers, other local musicians, and singers of all ages. There will also be well-known carols to join in with, readings, drama, and a few surprises!

The aim is to entertain, and to inform. Prophets thousands of years ago forecast the arrival of “Immanuel” meaning “God with Us”, and those taking part aim to show this true meaning of Christmas, and why this promises that the party will go on for eternity.
