IMPACT SEAFORD COMMENDED IN NATIONAL AWARDS

November 29 2013.

Impact Seaford, the new regeneration delivery partnership for the town, has been recognised in a national competition for its new model of partnership working to provide real benefits to local businesses and the community.

The partnership has been commended in the ‘Partnership and Strategic Working’ category within the South Zone of the 2013 Towns Alive Awards run by Action for Market Towns (AMT). The Awards were founded in 2004 to recognise and showcase initiatives that are helping towns to adapt to change and flourish, and Impact Seaford has been recognised for its commitment, initiative and vision to unlock the town’s potential through a programme of regeneration projects.

Councillor Ian White, Leader of Seaford Town Council and Chair of the Impact Seaford partnership said “I am delighted that Impact Seaford’s work has been recognised and commended through these prestigious national awards. Impact Seaford is designed to be a framework to unite the key organisations locally to deliver real change, improving provision of facilities whilst protecting the town’s heritage and marine assets.”

Impact Seaford is a new model of partnership working between Lewes District Council, Seaford Town Council, East Sussex County Council, traders and community groups united in developing a vision to help unlock Seaford’s potential.

Action for Market Towns founded its awards scheme in 2004 to recognise and showcase initiatives that are helping our towns to adapt to change and flourish.

Towns can enter their projects in one of four categories:
